20/12/09 At the Holly Run incorporating SCVAC XC championships 2009, Despite heavy snow causing havoc throughout parts of Kent in recent days, two hardy Invicta runners braved the roads & headed off for The Holly Run incorporating the Southern Counties Vets AC cross country championships. Vicky Talbot Rosner raced 2.5 mile in the FV45 & Tim Sutton 5 miles in the M40s. Conditions underfoot were mixed with heavy snow, rutted & sticky mud patches, with a long climb up to the top of the hill, which had magnificant views over the Sussex Downs, for a short flat respite, before plummeting down what felt like Surrey's own ski mountain! Vicky had a small lap followed by a large, always smiling, she thoroughly enjoyed the race but wishes she'd worked a little harder, with less chatting, as she lost the FV45 gold by only 10secs! Tim raced next over 3 large laps, with a steady first lap & careful descent down the mountain (!!!) confidence grew over the remaining two laps & held his position, not talking to anybody, he took V40 gold by 20sec.
Report by Tim Sutton

04/12/05 Event massage at the Thanet 10M road race was a success today. Giving those runners that have never had a massage before the opportunity to come & try at a reasonable fee. Like my club mate Tatsuo, who had to dash off the couch to receive the prize of second male & then return to complete his massage, but at least he has an understanding of the benefits of sports massage.10/12/05 After finishing work on Saturday morning at Pod + it was a mad dash across Kent to make the Clubmen’s cross country race. This race is for the senior men in the County & was held at Goodenstone Park near Canterbury. Arriving latter than planned & only just recovered from a knee problem during the week [which I successfully treated myself] my warm up could have been better! However, this also being a team competition, there is the need to race well & win the trophy. With two youngsters from my club Invicta East Kent up front, I had to draw on my strength & endurance to hold off fellow athletes, without letting places slip. All was worth it in the end as we very narrowly held off Paddock Wood AC to County team Gold medals & the Cup.
